Small Circles & The Source of Power |
This clip illustrates the use of small circles to redirect uke's force and thereby disrupt his balance. It then shows the application of power (movement) from a source not controlled by Uke. |

Passing Under The Jo |
Using the jo as a shield, a weapon, and a lead. |
|
The Touch of a Finger |
Although the contact is merely with the finger, one can execute a number of techniques. This becomes possible if one does not push with the hand or the arm but instead uses body-movement (One-Point) as the source of power. |

Variations |
In the first illustration at the last move nage's jo stays in contact with uke's jo. This allows nage to control uke's jo and set up an immediate thrust. In the last illustration nage crosses from left to right while flicking uke's jo aside. He makes use of large opening to execute a thrust. |
